Bob got his start as a custom boat builder, which lead to deep expertise with modern composites. As a lifelong cyclist, he saw the opportunity to take what the bike industry was already doing, but improve on it with a better understanding of the best ways to work with the materials of the moment.
Initially, every Parlee was handbuilt for the rider in the company’s Beverly, MA factory, but eventually, and through years of effort, they established a range of lower-priced, stock sized models that give riders access to Parlee’s industry leading approach to carbon fiber at more accessible price points.
